Check with as many local scrap metal dealers as possible. They all offer different prices and some locations only deal in certain metals. Also remember that at different times, some metals are more in demand than others and you're about making money. Keep an eye on the market or talk to your dealer often to determine what is in high demand. Once you build rapport with a particular dealer, you may find that they will consistently offer you the best prices and accept a large range of metals.

Well it's likely if it's sitting in your yard and all rusty that it's not going to pass any sort of inspection right? And why pay the money for the tags and title if you don't have to.

You can check out the local salvage yard or auto parts shop but if you need something major like a radiator, there are entire networks of salvage yards and garages that you can post what you need and they will find it for you. Then you can decide on the best deal and then the part is delivered to your door. In most cases, it is at least as cheap as having to find and remove the part yourself at some obscure salvage yard and not have the right tools. It's a lot less messy and the part is torn up before you get it.
The car could, in contrast, have an export only title. It is very important to know if the vehicle as this type of title, as it means the car is not assessable on the road and cannot be titled again in that state. This is not car you will want. A car with this title will either be destroyed or exported out of your country.

You can also be confident that the used auto parts you purchase will also fit perfectly on your car first time and every time. Spurious parts are known to have issues with fitment as they are only replicas of the original parts and everybody knows a copy is never as good as the original. So the question is why compromise?
